Wildwood Lodge is surrounded by Big South Fork National Park and Pickett State Park, close to Dale Hollow Lake and Jamestown. A beautiful rural area, typical of East Tennessee, but without the crowds of the Smokies - probably more horses than people!
English owned and operated, Wildwood has 10 bedrooms with private bathrooms, are individually decorated with southern yellow pine wainscoting, Julia's natural art pieces and hand stitched quilts. Or try one of our cabins, (see below) where children and pets are welcome.
Huge cooked breakfasts as well as lively conversations get you off to a good start each day.
In winter, curl up in front of the large fire-place in the cozy sitting room with a book from our library: loads of books on the area and its wild life and flora, other reference books, magazines and novels.
Three course suppers are served Sunday through Tuesday. Reservations are essential so that we can buy the freshest produce and best ingredients.
Julia, the gardener, has created winding, shaded wild flower trails over 17 acres of woodland. There is a profusion of flowers in hanging baskets and planters at the Lodge and on the three decks, where you can relax in hammocks.
Comfort, privacy, excellent food and good company are all you could wish for after exploring the great outdoors.
You may prefer a cabin - if you have children or a pet, or if you're a group looking for a better price, or simply want to cater for yourselves.
There are secluded, cozy cabins under the trees, next to the stables, with beautiful views of the lower pasture and woods. All but one bedroom has its private bathroom. Bedrooms are not adjacent, so even sharing, you have real privacy. All the rooms are lovingly decorated with hand crafted pictures and draperies. Grill out and eat on the roofed-in, screened-in deck, situated on the cooler side of the cabin, watching nature go by.
Bring your horses - Big South Fork is the largest equestrian park in the South East ! We have 26 well-lit, well equipped, all wood, purpose built ,10' by 12' stalls with concrete wash racks, loads of parking and a one way system road to avoid maneuvring those great big trailers.
