Isallt Guest House, built of Welsh stone and slate, is a large detached Victorian house built around 1870 for the local Doctor. It has been used for many purposes since, but was converted to a guest house and coffee shop in 1999. All rooms have en-suite accommodation, TV, video, tea/coffee making facilities and hairdryer, etc. A new slate terrace has recently been added which offers a spectacular view of the Moelwyn Mountains.

Isallt is in the centre of Blaenau Ffestiniog with bus and rail transport, shops, pubs, cafes, restaurants, banks, post office, and the local tourist office, etc., all within just a short walk. It is situated adjacent to the world famous Ffestiniog narrow gauge steam railway and close to the Llechwedd Slate Caverns. There are many walks from Isallt and Blaenau is ideally situated to tour the Snowdonia National Park. It is just a short drive from Portmeiron; the Snowdonia towns of Betwsy-Coed, Llanberis and Beddgelert; and the Castles of Harlech, Criccieth, Caernarfon and Conway. There are also blue flag beaches, fishing and golf within half an hour drive.

Blaenau Ffestiniog is at the heart of an area unsurpassed in natural beauty and is the ideal base for touring the Snowdonia National Park by car, bicycle or on foot. Beaches, castles and many of North Wales’s attractions are just a short drive or bus journey away.

This area has some of the best rock climbing, fishing and many walks in the mountains around Blaenau
