We are Peter and Barbara Jackson and both live and work here at Canal Bank. We very much enjoy living here on the Brecon Canal, we feel as if we are in the country but are so close to town that we can just take a pleasant stroll along the towpath to get to the centre. We are lucky enough to be in a very quiet location with fields and hills at the rear, no traffic, only ducks and canal barges passing our front door. The convenience of Brecon with it’s shops, restaurants, theatre, cinema, leisure centre, museums, canal marina, historic buildings and even a Cathedral, is such a bonus.
Canal Bank has been described as: “small, stylish and personally run by the attentive owners. A luxury establishment offering top quality as a benchmark – excellent beds, crisp white linen, goose-down duvets, datapoint access, LCD televisions with DVD’s and, most welcoming after an energetic day, hydro-therapy spa baths in the immaculate bathrooms.” We are confident that you will find this description to be true having spent nine exciting months either renovating, replacing or restoring every square inch of Canal Bank. Our goal was to create a calm and comfortable environment with luxury rooms offering modern facilities, varied and imaginative breakfasts, a warm welcome and helpful advice when required.
We like to offer something slightly different to start the day and breakfasts can be light and healthy or traditional and indulgent! We have incorporated a Welsh theme in the breakfast choices and use Welsh produce wherever possible – local free-range eggs, home cured bacon and Swansea laverbread.
