Straiton, voted one of Scotlands top 10 villages, is set in the glen approaching the Galloway Forest. The village is known as "The Rambling Territory" due to the number of walks available. It is ideally suited to access the golf, fishing and walking in Ayrshire. Within Ayrshire we have a number of world class links courses within easy access. The River Girvan is a five minute walk from The Old Garden Cottage and Trout and Salmon fishing is available with a permit.
Two double rooms , (one a superking with en-suite and the other a double with exclusive use of a spa bathroom,) to a very high standard, are available, each with TV and tea/ coffee making facilities.
WiFi is available. There is a guest lounge with Sky TV.
The village has a hotel, The Black Bull Hotel, where meals to a high standard can be bought.
There is also a very good tearoom, The Buck, where fantastic homebaking is available.
The village also has a community run store where a wide range of local products and essentials are available.
