“Welcome back to heaven again”. “Once again excellent, delicious cream tea and breakfast”. “Wonderful accommodation and food and the warmest welcome possible”. These are just a few of our many lovely guests comments..
Enjoy the warm and friendly welcome waiting for you at Bason Farm. A pretty stone farmhouse nestled within a quiet sleepy village and bordered by a river with fishing rights and a valuable refuge for wildlife and wildflowers. The exquisite, Visit Britain 4 Stars accommodation comprising of two double rooms and one twin, are all en suite with many private facilities. Delicious home cooking using fresh local produce, including our own fresh free range eggs, with daily baked bread and homemade preserves
The 240 acre organic beef and sheep farm has been owned by the Smale family for well over 100 years. The family have worked closely with the Devon Wildlife Trust to build a farm trail, where kingfishers and otters, deer and many other wildlife are regular visitors. Our domestic animals include horses, dogs, cat, hens and ducks.
Bason Farm is centrally situated to explore many well known landmarks in both Devon and Cornwall, in particular, the beautiful coastline stretching from Woolacombe Bay to Bude, then further down the coast to King Arthurs' Tintagel, incorporating Westward Ho! Clovelly, Hartland and Widemouth Bay renowned for surfing. Exmoor and Dartmoor with their idyllic beauty spots. The Tarka Trail, (Tarka the Otter country), which attracts walkers and cyclists, Torrington famous for Dartington Crystal and the RHS gardens of Rosemoor. The Milky Way and the Big Sheep are just two of many major family attractions, and all this within easy reach of Bason Farm!
