We welcome you to our home in Whataroa, gateway to South Westland's World Heritage Area, a scenic 25min drive North of Franz Josef Glacier. We offer a friendly, quiet retreat from the busy Glacier towns in our comfortable, spacious 1930s home. Clare is a 4th generation member of a pioneering family who first settled on the West Coast in 1871. Rob originally from Auckland has been gold mining in this area for the past 30 years. Clare and Rob may be committed hosts, but much more it shows they love to have people around and make them feel at home - and they really succeeded 100%! They took time to recommend things to do and were very helpful with everything. Also, they are wonderful with children. This adds to a great place: Huge guest lounge, a terrace and a beautiful garden with only the mountains around. (We spent an afternoon just relaxing there.) Rooms are comfortable and all facilities brand new. The breakfast is a treat with hot muffins to get you going. Thank you for making our stay so memorable, Clare and Rob!

Delightful, most helpful hosts - booked leisure activities, delicious home. Baked muffins, cookies etc. Very comfortable & relaxed envionment.
