Awatuna Beachside is nestled between the highway, river and beach, in park like grounds with splendid views of the coastline and alps. Guests can sit on the sheltered veranda in comfortable chairs to soak up the Western coastal views. All the West Coast attractions are within an easy day trip, such as Franz Josef and Fox Glaciers, Punakaiki pancake rocks, Arthurs Pass,Paparoa and Westland National Parks also historic Shantytown. For the active there are many gold field trails and short walks in the vicinity. Hosts Cheryl and Malcolm are a retired couple and spend much of their time tending the the extensive garden, they also enjoy meeting guests from all over the world.
