We had a wonderful overnight stay in a welcoming & comfortable home. Our hosts gave us much help and advice including booking local restaurants and attractions. Ribbonwood is an elegant home just outside Franz-Joseph in a scenic position. We enjoyed the home-made breakfast goodies and the engaging conversations on local life & wildlife. We wanted to stay longer.

What a wonderful retreat, the silence, the views, and the hospitality. Thank you. You make great breakfast Jo. A good base to see the glaciers and we enjoyed a helicopter flight the morning we moved on.

We stayed in the cottage, a beautifully built king size room with a kitchen and wonderful bath. The accomodation was lovely as was the host and hostess. Jo and Julie were the perfert Kiwi hosts helping us plan our activities with the warmth of family caring. Stunning views surrounding the cottage and home with horses and cows in the surrounding pastures. A wonderful stay! Caroline and Gordon Getz

We stayed in the Ribbonwood cottage for two nights, and throughly enjoyed the experience. The accommodation was excellent, with probably the best shower on the south island! The setting and scenery were magnificent, and Jo and Julie were great hosts with superb local knowledge, both of tourist attractions and environmental issues. And then there's the home made bread...!
