Welcome to my peaceful hideaway set on 8 acres of pure nature at its best. This modern country home has it all. With wide-open landscape, breathtaking views of Mt Cook and Mt Tasman, and surrounded by bush-clad hills with magnificent reflections on my own special pond.

I have a cosy self-contained cottage (for 2) with basic kitchenette facility and en-suite. Inside my home, are en-suited super king/twin bedrooms, also super king/twin bedrooms with a private bathroom.

Three bedrooms have private access. There are two bedrooms, with an adjoining bathroom between, ideal for a family of four.

The area is ecologically diverse, from the West Coast's sub-temperate rain forest, to one of the lowest flowing Glaciers in the Southern Hemisphere at Fox Glacier.

Situated near one of the most photographed mirror lakes in New Zealand (Lake Matheson), and just a short distance further, is access to the wild West Coast (Gillespie's Beach) with long tracks of rugged coastline, which is home to many New Zealand fur seal colonies. From walking adventures to adrenaline activities, I can happily assist enhancing your Glacier experience to the full.

It's truly "a piece of paradise" - I'd like to share the comfort and individual uniqueness with you.

I have travelled extensively in New Zealand as part of my career, gaining a wealth of tourism knowledge, and can help in your travel plans (where to go, or what to do and see) around the rest of our beautiful country

Karen, our hostess, was absolutely wonderful. She even handled our minor medical crisis like a pro in spite of the fact that it interrupted breakfast. Very down to earth and friendly and the accomodations were warm and comfortable. We would come back again.

Exceptional views and exceptional host. We stayed with Karen last October and were relieved to have someone tell us exactly where to go and exactly what to do. Karen is a great person and she cooks a nice breakfast. She has a beautiful garden and a pond that reflects the glacial mountains. The accomodations are private and comfortable. We hope to return. We stayed with Karen and had the most delightful time. The cottage we stayed in was very comfortable and immaculate and looked out on wonderful views of mountains and pastures. The area is quiet yet convenient to town. Karen is a warm and caring hostess and prepared terrific breakfasts leavened with info about the area and New Zealand as a whole. Definitely a find that we will recommend to all our friends.

We stayed here in Feb '07 Fantastic location with amazing views, just off the main road through Fox. Rooms were beautifully appointed. We were with friends and had two bedrooms and shared adjoining bathroom. Very well thought out. Karen was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was excellent. Really cannot fault it - have lovely memories even though we were there only one night

Sadly only one night but the home & location were to die for with everything thought of. Karen helped us with places to see and things to do and then breakfast in the morning was out of this world. She is so organised and cool & calm too!

My sister and I recently had a wonderful vacation in New Zealand, staying in accomodation found in the NZ Bed & Breakfast book. We enjoyed all our stays but one in particular was a real highlight for us. It was the home of Karen Simpson at Mountain View, Fox Glacier. Karen was a great hostess, very entertaining and welcoming. Karen did some washing for us(at no extra expense)and we managed to leave some behind. She then phoned our next homestay and got an address in Wellington where we were ending up and put it in the post. Such acts of kindness are never forgotten and we certainly will be returning to Karen's for a longer visit next time. New Zealand is the undoubtedly the most welcoming country in world I have ever visited and Karen is a great ambassador for her country. Thanks Karen!
