Located in quiet, leafy Lowry Bay, 3 minutes walk from the beach, The Gatehouse is part of a larger property built in 1929 by well-known architect Natusch and based on another home in Cornwall, England. The Gatehouse was formerly a coach-house until transformation in 2001 and is completely detached from the main house. The Gatehouse offers a lounge with open fire, sofabed for extra guests, stereo, TV, telephone and full kitchen with tea/coffee making provisions. The bathroom has a large tiled and pebbled shower, toilet and hand-basin, heated towel-rail, beach towels and bathrobes. Upstairs overlooking the formal parterre garden and pond is the airy bedroom with super-king or twin beds, crisp cotton bed linen and feather duvets. We have lots of books, magazines and board-games available in the reading nook off the bedroom. Breakfast is served in The Gatehouse at a time convenient to our guests. We are 5 minutes drive from Eastbourne village, which offers galleries, gift shops, cafes and restaurants. There are also some lovely walks through native bush and along the Bays. We are 20 minutes from Wellington, 15 minutes from the Interisland Ferry terminal, and 30 minutes from the airport. Buses depart for the city at the end of the street, or you can board the ferry from Days Bay and enjoy Wellington?s harbour. Laundry service. Fax available. Off street parking. Cot, highchair and baby-sitting available. For your comfort we are smoke free. Amex, JCB, Visa and Mastercard welcome.

Thankyou so much for making our wedding
day so wonderful! We just couldn't have
wished for anything more. Such wonderful
hospitality, a delightful location and just
sensational food!
We really appreciated you accommodating
everything for us - makeup artist,
photographer, videographer, wedding cars -
and thankyou for making the weather happen -
finally!
And thankyou too for the Easter gift - just the
most amazing experience.
We will certainly remember this always - a
fantastic memory for us to have and an
amazing start to our life together.
Stay in touch,
Love Jeff and Jo

I think The Gatehouse Bed and Breakfast is
the greatest. I'm so glad Krista found this for
Justin and me. Thank you Lisa for being such
a great hostess to all of us, including Luann
and Krista. you were so great to "pop" us
around, and help us find interesting tours.
Your brunches were super. The dinner with
your family was extra special. Thanks for the
memories. Let's stay in touch.
Love, Maxine

Due to our usual lack of organisation, we
ended up here by chance.
Lady Luck smiled on us.
We have never been so well looked after in
our lives, if you ever need two more children to
look after, we will happily fill the spot. Thanks
for everything.

Thank you Lisa for your great hospitality. The
Gatehouse is beautiful - we could stay forever,
however, we would need to buy bigger clothes
as Lisa's wonderful cooking is too tempting to
resist!
