From the moment I arrived I was made welcome by Clive and the house is a delight. An old hospital, it is beautifully decorated in the style of the period. The room was lovely - comfortable queen bed and french doors opening onto an enclosed balcony. My own handbasin and the shared bath & shower rooms were easy. The toilet with the copper cistern and the chain-pull were absolutely in keeping with the rest of the house !! The bath was long and deep and there was plenty of hot water. Clive was a gracious host and provided a continental breakfast that set me up for my day's work. The garden was lovely with a water feature and the chooks foraging were very cute and added to the rural ambience in the town. Easy access to the mighty Whanganui river and its environs and a lovely stroll into town to meet colleagues for dinner. There was also a quiet guests' lounge with a television that I was happy to relax in front of on my second night and while I didn't require it, there was internet access for guests. A thoroughly enjoyable stay and I would recommend you give it a try.
