January 2012 Our two nights with Di and Audrey were delightful. We ate delicious food(home-produced lamb, duck and venison as well as lovely puddings and good wine) with them on both evenings and enjoyed good company with their stories of the history of the farm as well as interesting details of life in their region of New Zealand. On our last morning we watched some of the sheep being sheared and felt we had really experienced a little of life on a farm in NZ. The farm is situated in the most beautiful and tranquil countryside. Highly recommended. |

We arranged to stay at Mitredale for two nights, one before we made a three day Whanganui river trip and one when we returned, muddy stiff and happy.Diane and her mother, Audrey were very welcoming on both occasions. We found the room very comfortable and enjoyed a splendid dinner on each of our two night's stay. The food and the cuisine was wonderful, accompanied by a profusion of wines.Di is an extraordinarily good chef. Mitredale is easy to find but is in the midst of a pastoral landscape so feels restful. This place is a winner. |
