5 minutes drive from Invercargill airport and 25 minutes to the port of Bluff, our comfortable eco friendly homestay B&B is situated on 4.5 hectares of private reserve and makes up part of the Awarua Ramsar Wetland of International Importance site. It is the perfect place to stay before travelling to Stewart Island or as a base to explore Southland.
The reserve has an increasing population of South Island fernbirds. It has rare native plants with mature podocarp forest and salt marsh all on an easy 20 minute walk from the B&B door.
Due to extensive pest control and re vegetation our homestay B&B is an oasis for birders and nature lovers alike. Wake up to the dawn chorus of Tuis and Bellbirds then spend a few hours birding with no driving.
A guided tour is included in the B&B tariff. We will also guide casual groups for a small charge.
