Kowhai Place is a new, high quality B&B located in Gore, in the south of the South Island of New Zealand. We are right on the banks of the Mataura River, so famous for it's fly fishing. You might even see the trout rising from your accommodation!

Gore is an ideal place to stay as it's centrally located within the region. This makes our place the ideal base if you wish to make day trips to many places, including The Catlins, Invercargill, Bluff and Queenstown. Te Anau and the World Heritage Fiordland National Park are also all within a two hour drive from Gore.

We will be happy to advise you on places to visit and things to do during your stay here and we know you will enjoy our typical southern hospitality!

I have called in here 3 times and am very fond of the family and therefore maybe biased. Nothing is too much trouble. Pity the family is moving to gore this year.
