Directions Wakefield is situated on State Highway 6 south of Nelson. Half a km south of Wakefield turn left into 88 Valley Road, then first left into Hunt Terrace. Proceed up the drive through the trees, we are the first house on the left.

ARRIVE A STRANGER AND LEAVE AS A FRIEND. Join your artistic, well travelled hosts in their private hideaway south of Nelson city in the village of Wakefield. The hoise is secluded amongst the native trees adjacent to Faulkner's Bush & Waikari Reserve surrounded by Totara, Beech, punga's and silver ferns. See New Zealand's native bird life from arms length and be at one with nature. Experience peach and tranquility.

Prior arrangements can be made to join your hosts for dinner or you can visit our local restaurant. (10 minute walk). Other restaurants are available 15 minute drive away in Richmond.

Your hosts can help with tours around the region, helping guests organise their activities in the Nelson region. Visit the Abel Tasman National Park and walk the track and view New Zealand's native bush.

Your hosts have lived overseas and travelled to Europe and America. Their interests are golf, travel, art, singing, music, gardening, pottery, furniture making.

See if you have hidden talents and learn to make a pot on the wheel with your host Bruce. Have a fun filled hour making your own pot.

We couldn't have asked for more caring or accomodating hosts! Sandra and Bruce made us feel right at home. We had a lovely evening making pottery and then a leisurely breakfast the next morning at which we were spoiled with lots of good cooking. Sandra and Bruce also took the time to give us some excellent recommendations for things to do in the area. Our one regret is that we could stay with them only one night ...

This was an opportunity to experience the real New Zealand. Our room was perfect, surrounded by decking and set in a beautiful woodland location. Add to this the home cooking and a recommendation on great boat trip on Abel Tasman; the result was a stay that was a special part of our wonderful visit to New Zealand.
