An organic vegetarian / vegan oasis in beautiful Takaka

Matangi Mahaha is a 100 year old villa set in over an acre of gardens, organic orchards and with swimming pool. It has stunning mountain views and is very peaceful. You are welcome to use the swimming pool, or wander through the orchard and pick fruit. We have oranges, grapefruit, figs, plums, apples, pears, feijoas, lemons and many more.
Matangi Mahana is 5 minutes drive from the Takaka township with it's eclectic range of art and crafts; and 5 minutes from the beautiful Pohara beach.
We are ideally situated to explore the beautiful Golden Bay area and are located between the Abel Tasman and Kahurangi National Parks.

All of our food is, wherever possible, organic. It is all vegetarian, with the option of soya milk.
We will pick up guests from Tourist Information wherever possible.


We are a family of five. Diarmuid and Emma are teachers, both working part time, and our girls are 6, 4 and 2. As your accommodation is at the back of the house, the three girls shouldn't disturb you, though they love having guests.
We have two pet lambs who live in the orchard.
