The Rugby World Cup is fast approaching and we have rooms available. Our tariff remains at $140 per night double. Travelling to or from Wellington? Kind and generous hosts. Lovely meals. Clean, comfortable, attractive and warm accommodation with log fires. Of special interest - feeding sheep and highland cattle. One boy said it was "better than Disneyland"! This B&B is quite out of the ordinary. 12/11/2009

On a ten day holiday in New Zealand, my husband, daughter and I had by the greatest good fortune booked to say a night at the home of Malcolm and Rachel Phillips. Not only were we greeted promptly by Rachel and Malcolm, and treated by them with great kindness and thougtfullness, our rooms were clean, private, comfortable and delightful. We had booked for dinner, and with great pleasure enjoyed their company and Rachel's excellent cooking. Without a doubt the pleasure of our stay at Ardo Highland Haven will be remembered for a long time, and spoken of often, as one of the best experiences we had during our holiday in New Zealand. 17/02/2009

Rachel & Malcolm made us ALL so welcome and couldn't have done more to make us comfortable. Beds really comfortable. All spotless. Breakfast really nice. And excellent value for money. We would not hesitate to recommend Ardo.

I really enjoyed the good mix of friendly company and respect for my privacy - especially having a whole undisturbed floor to myself. Your hospitality, lovely food and open-minded conversation helped me feel very 'at home' and you obviously care very much about your visitors and their comfort. You thought of everything. I'm sorry I didn't have time to explore the beautiful property this time. Thank you and I look forward to seeing you again when I get back to Levin.

Peaceful destination after a journey from the S.Island. Friendly hospitality in a lovely home. Even Mandy (the dog) was pleased to see us! After a nice relaxed dinner, a comfortable bed and a lovely breakfast we made it back to Tauranga well satisfied.

Absolutely superb, way above the norm for B&B. Hosts are now our friends and we hope they will visit us in Ireland. Full marks in all respects, Rachel even did the ironing for me, a most unexpected bonus. Can't rate them highly enough. Fantastic.

Stay: 17.3.07 What hosts and what a place! The accommodation is super and the hosts are just great! They clearly enjoy having visitors and sharing their love of New Zealand with their visitors; they exude enthusiasm. The property is outside the town in a beautifully quiet area. Simply lovely.

Wanted to put in a special award for Rachel and Malcolm Phillips at Ardo Highland Haven. They took me in in the middle of the night, which was very appreciated, fed me a great Easter breakfast and that was all good. The beyond the call of duty came when my car was broken into while taking a bush walk in the Levin area. I called them to see what to do being easter Sunday, opted to call the police and while waiting Malcolm comes out to the area where i am parked and offers to swap cars for the day so i can continue my sightseeing! He then takes my car and cleans up the glass and puts plastic over the broken window so i can get back to wellington that night. These folks were true angels and deserve a huge appreciation. I hope there is some way to acknowledge them in your book.

We recently had the great pleasure of staying at the Ardo Highland Haven B&B. We cannot recommend this place too highly. Allison & Malcolm Phillips, were really great hosts. Our comfort was their main consideration, and after one night only it was like being part of the family. Being given a choice of breakfast was a bonus.
