Having hosted for 10 years with my late wife, I'm continuing to enjoy companionship, conversation and laughter with guests. Spacious room with sea view. Fourth generation property with 100 year old garden. 15 minute walk to restaurants at historic Port Ahuriri or our world famous Art Deco city centre. Private bathroom (bath and shower). Laundry facilities available. Free pick-up service. Off-street parking. Smoke-free inside please. I'm interested in travel, gardening, the arts, and especially local history, as I'm Executive Director of the Art Deco Trust.

Beaut room, with everything you could want plus great views - and a very caring, gracious host. Robert has thought of everything - if it isn't there, you won't need it - and Napier has a great ambience. |

The views from the room have to be seen to be believed. Robert is a kind , friendly person without being intrusive. We enjoyed our short stay and have no hesitation in recommending the accommodation to future travellers. John and Christine Jackson (England) Oct 2007 |

Robert has thought of everything as far as amenities - whatever you need, it's right there at your fingertips, and you don't even have to ask! Ironing board, Q-tips, binoculars, robes, beverages, etc., etc. The view from both windows is incredible. We've stayed at many, many B&B's through the years, and no other view compares. Robert's home was very well kept, and his gardens are beautiful. We enjoyed having our breakfast with him, asking questions, and getting to know the New Zealand culture a little better. Our stay couldn't have been better! |

This is a lovely B&B and although Robert has only been widowed 3 months and we were his first guests since his wife died, he was a gracious host. The house was spotless, there were flowers in our room and he made us feel at home. An EXCELLENT weekend. |

Thanx Robert for the reaaally amazing stay we had.The accomodation really lives upto its name 'A Room With A View'. I highly recommend it not just for the view, but for the unobtrusive but ever helpful care and attention to detail of the host Rob,the yummy breakfasts we had overlookng the port, and just the whole stay in itself. The gardens are immaculate, the linen fresh and clean, and the decks perfect to enjoy your Hawkes Bay wine as the sun sets. Just a few minutes drive from the shops/cafes etc...so one can go to the restaurants on the Port or in the main Parade area as well.. Once again..thank you! |

We stayed for one night with Robert, and felt immediately at home. Our accommodation was lovely and we enjoyed a leisurely chat over tea and biscuits on the veranda. Robert's knowledge of Napier and the Art Deco movement, as well as local cafes, was great! Very good value in every sense. |
