Outstanding in every way. Laid back kind hosts, location central but away from everyone else. Garden lovely kept, information on area and tides etc, very helpful, restaurants etc. Loved outdoor bath, fresh fruit breakfast. Every need catered for. Best cottage ever stayed in. Thank You

How do you describe perfect? Barry & Heather were wonderful hosts. We enjoyed the family pets and the well maintained, immaculate Fig Tree cottage. Our hosts offered us fresh garden veggies for our BBQ dinner and treated us like family. We enjoyed our stay so much that we stayed on an extra night. Thank you to Heather for the recipe. Close to everything; it would be a mistake not to stay here.

Our stay at Fig Tree Cottage was completely delightful, with Heather and Barry delivering our breakfast each morning (including fresh-squeezed juice from their trees) and making sure that we had everything we needed to be comfortable. This is a place we will remember forever, and revisit if opportunity presents.

Fig Tree Cottage was lovely, beautifully equipped, with a kitchenette and a living-room as well as a veranda (with barbecue) where we ate the most marvellous breakfasts in the sunshine. Barry and Heather made us most welcome - we almost felt part of the family. A wonderful few days.

We stayed here so as not to have too far to drive with the parents in a single day (from Auckland!?). Now they've gone we'll be coming back to stay here ourselves! It's what every BnB should be like. A little paradise. And the little touches in the cottages set it so far apart. I'm a bloke and I don't normally do this kind of thing but I love this place.

Clean & tidy self contained accommodation, with friendly and informative hosts and a menagerie of animals. Breakfast included fresh produce from their own orchard. Great start to the trip.

Fantastic place to stay - wonderful setting amongst the fruit trees, the facilities were first class as was the hospitality of Heather and Barry. The breakfasts were incredible - sad when we got back home and woke up to realise Heather was not around with her amazing cooking. The flexibility of Heather and Barry was much appreciated and we will be recommending them to all our friends and family.

30th Dec 04 - 2nd Jan 05 We spent the most wonderful long weekend at Mercury Orchard, which is in a great quiet spot away from it all - yet a wonderful base for exploring the whole of Mercury bay and the surrounding area. We have never received such a warm welcome or such kind hospitality as we did from Heather and Barry, who made us feel completely at home. The orchard setting is stunning - we were treated to lovely sweet, tasty plums and oranges every day, some of the amazing produce which grows almost in reach of the windows! We especially enjoyed tasting the giant fig! We stayed in the new bach, which is extremely comfortable, and our friends stayed in the cottage - both are equipped with everything one could possibly need and more. Breakfasts were delicious and truly set you up for the day. Our wedding day was made extra special for having been there and we very much hope to visit you again in a couple of years time. Thanks again for everything. x
