Waihi Beach is 9ks of sand and is a safe surf & swimming beach. Within 30 minutes there are 4 golf courses, 3 wineries, the Karangahake gorge with its many walks through the old gold mining remnants of the late 1800’s early 1900’s. In Waihi there is the modern Martha gold mine – gold mine tours happen daily. Additionally we can organize swimming with the dolphins in Tauranga just 40 minutes south, kayaking through glowworm caves at night at Waimarino, a Harley ride around the local area, fishing – either trout, salt water or torpedo fishing with mine hosts Greg & Ali off the beach.
Waihi Beach is also perfectly positioned for guests to see the Coromandel from one base. Hot Water Beach, Whitianga, Cathedral Cove and Rotorua are all within easy driving distances and there is plenty to see and do in the immediate area.
Waihi Beach Lodge has 3 king rooms with ensuites and a queen size studio apartment with its own private bathroom. All rooms have TV, DVD’s, cotton linen, table & chairs plus tea & coffee making facilities. All the king rooms have a sea view with the studio apartments view being from its deck.
Greg & Ali come from sales & marketing backgrounds and really enjoy meeting guests. Our interest are food, wine, reading, and travel along with most sports and we are arm chair rugby fans and follow the All Blacks.
