We have greatly enjoyed the time in NZ, this has been largely due to the outstanding facilites at Thorold. Such accomodation provides a place for rest,fun and reflection.This combined with the hospitality Gary and Wendy have shown us has made this holiday one we will always remember with affection. Thank-you We recommed Thorold without hesitation.

I stayed at Thorold with Gary & Wendy and was made to feel very welcome in their immaculate kept, comfortable acommodation. Breakfast and dinner was excellant and the small holding with the animals made it a unique experince. I would recommend it to anyone.

Wendy and Gary were wonderful hosts. They opened their home to us, and we had a great experience. Their house and grounds are beautiful, and were peaceful and serene. The rooms were very clean and cozy, and breakfast was lovely. They were both wonderful to talk to, and make you feel at ease. Highly recommended.

What a treat. Such a wonderful feeling to come to this charming cozy place, surrounded by leafy trees, beautifully kept grounds and of course some curious sheep. It is New Zealand after all. The rooms are comfy and private and the cottage is a delight. In fact, it is actually a roomy house, a home away from home. The perfect place to come home to after a hard day exploring the delights of the Coromandel. Wendy is an exceptional cook and mealtimes are a delight. She and Gary are wonderful hosts. They have travelled extensively and lived overseas, so dinnertime conversations are lively and fascinating. It is obvious they enjoy their guests. High recommendations!

This was with out doubt thie best bed and break fast we stayed in on our trip we can not thank Jaccqui and Graham enough they run a small hotel not a bed and breakfast nothing was too much trouble we will be back

If you're in the Coromandel / Thames area, then this is the place I'd recommend staying. Wendy and Gary are the most charming people and made me feel so welcome that I felt I would like to (as I wrote in their guest book) stay on for ever. This is a beautiful house with fantastic surrounds just outside of Thames.

What a gem! The Thorold Country Home is a little south of town, actually just south of the 1-way bridge across the river. Very easy to find. We were made to feel right at home by the great hosts Wendy and Gary. We stayed in the cottage, so we had a kitchen and living area too. They have a pool in the yard, and a herd of sheep! Very nice folks, we chatted for a long time each day. The place is charming, very clean and spacious. We were sad when we left, as we felt like we had made real friends (actually we’ve exchanged pictures via email since then!)
