Welcome to TYRONE DEER FARM, centrally situated in the Mount Hutt, Rakaia Gorge, Methven area in the middle of the South Island, 5km from the Inland Tourist Route (Highway 72) and one hour from Christchurch International Airport, making TYRONE an ideal stopover heading south to Queenstown.




Our home is positioned with mountain views (Mt Hutt) and deer grazing a few metres away, and has ensuite bedrooms with electric blankets, wool underlays and duvets on the beds, also heaters and hair dryers. The lounge has open fire, TV, tea & coffee making facilities and guest fridge.




Come meet Guz, our pet deer, her daughter $$s, 10.30 our cat. Laze in the garden, swim in the pool, relax. Evening meal is by arrangement and served with New Zealand wines.




We are able to arrange professional guides for fishing (salmon and trout) and for hunting; especially Tahr, Red Deer, and Chamois. Skiing at Mt Hutt, hot-air ballooning, jet-boating, golf on nearby 18 hole courses. Numerous walks - scenic, bush, garden, alpine. Directions: please refer to map.
