Our two nights with Jim and Lorraine were delightful from our arrival when we were welcomed with tea and cake to our departure after one of the best breakfasts in NZ. The accommodation was immaculate and comfortable and being able to walk through the back gate onto the beatiful beach was perfect. Highly recommended.

Just a delightful home away from home. Loved every moment from the genuine, warm, welcome. Every detail thought of for our comfort and pleasure. Bath robes - to even having binoculars available in lounge. Home baked bread, biscuits etc.

Now that we are home in Canterbury I am reflecting on our two weeks in the North Island with our wonderful caring family and many kind friends. And we count you amongst our friends after we enjoyed so much our stay with you in your warm and welcoming home. Truly we did enjoy and appreciate so much the night we stayed at your Beachside B&B. Right from the time we arrived you put us at ease. Your attention to detail to make your guests 'at home' was meticulous. Home- made biscuits for supper, your friendly and interesting chat over supper, the cleanliness and comfort of the rooms, the bath-robe for our use, the delicious cooked breakfast, and the home-made bread all added up to a stay we will always remember. We will never forget the view of the sea when we stepped into the breakfast room the next morning -idyllic! And then the smell of the bacon cooking ------well!! We would love to stay with you again and will certainly be recommending you to our friends. We do not get to the North Island very often, but when we do Mount Maunganui and the Beachside B&B will certainly be on top of our list of things we must do. Meantime stay well and keep on enjoying your lives in that lovely spot.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at the "Beachside" B&B at 21B Oceanbeach Rd, Mt. Maunganui, NZ. I was travelling with a friend who had not previously stayed in a B&B anywhere. Our hosts were Jim & Lorraine Robertson and they made us feel most welcome, offering afternoon tea as soon as we settled into our rooms. The following morning we were given the most marvellous breakfast, with "all the trimmings" and whilst we drank our tea, taking in the marvellous view over the water, Jim chatted with us. I have stayed at many B&Bs in UK, Aust and NZ, but nothing compares to the "Beachside". The rooms were very comfortable and although my room was not ensuite, my bathroom was next door. My friend's ensuite opened onto a little courtyard. The beds were comfortable, room extremely clean, excellent value for money - so much so, that we chose to pay cash rather than have our hosts pay commission on credit card. I would have to give a rating of 12 out of 10! Sincerely, Jan Cook p.s. my friend Nita Popplewell does not have a computer, but has asked me to reply for her too. She is in total agreement with the above.

I'd never tried B&B before and I didn't know what to expect. I was so surprised and delighted with every aspect of my stay with Jim and Lorraine. I don't think I'll be going back to Hotel/Motels again!! EXCELLENT!!
