Set in the beautiful grounds of the Katikati Bird Gardens the cottage is a special and unique retreat. 10 acres of grounds to explore with gardens, ponds, trees and wetlands on the edge of the inner Tauranga harbour. Fully self-contained, the cottage has its own private sunny terrace overlooking the gardens. French doors open off each room, and the bedroom floor to ceiling bi-folds can be opened out to give a single studio space. With natural native timber floors and sisal/wool rugs the cottage has a refined, warm and contemporary feel. A gas flame effect fire, MySKY and Full HDTV, fluffy towels and pure Irish linen sheets add to the quality experience. Indulgence you might say, for two.

Tauranga, Mount Maunganui, the walks of the Karangahake Gorge and the beautiful Waihi Beach are all within a 30 minute drive. The Kaimai-Mamaku Forest Park is on the other side of the highway with many nature and bush walks on offer including the Twin Falls and Kauri Dams walks. The cottage has plenty of information and maps for all the local walking tracks and we are happy to advise.
