Luxury hosted bed and breakfast, 30 minutes drive north of Auckland, south of Warkworth and part of the Matakana Coast Wine Country. A private, remote setting bordered by lush farmland, native forest with abundant native birdlife and small coves on the Mahurangi Harbour.

The lodge is contemporary and elegant, the guest rooms luxurious and beautifully appointed with glass walls to views of the beautiful harbour, estuary and hills beyond. There is a guest lounge with log fire and a gallery / library.

Wireless broadband is complimentary. Close to renown sculpture parks Waipiata has numerous original works of art by New Zealand artists.

Outside is a 20 metre lap pool, an architectural feature of the lodge atrium, bush walks, firepit, sculptures and boardwalks.

There is also a very new private studio with breakfast provisions for those who look for more independence.

Waipiata's owners, 5th generation New Zealanders, are well travelled both inside New Zealand and around the world and built Waipiata to host visitors to this country. This amazing building won the architect, Noel Lane, the New Zealand Institute of Architects award for Residential Architecture.

Waipiata is at the gateway to the beautiful Bay of Islands and the wonderful beaches, vineyards and art galleries of Warkworth and Matakana.

We have a commitment to sustainability and protecting the environment, the large orchard, vegetable and herb gardens are grown using sustainable organic methods and all produce is used in the sumptuous breakfasts that are a feature at Waipiata.
