What a wonderful place. Thank you Colin & Anna Mieke for making our stay so pleasant. You were wonderful hosts and nothing was too much trouble. It was like home from home. The beds really comfortable, the location very convenient, food delicious , beautiful views and spotlessly clean. What more could you ask for. |

This wonderful gem in the shadow of Auckland, is a picturesque and extremely relaxing stay. I found the hosts, Robert and Gillian, to be warm and always smiling. This lovely cottage is a very private space, located a comfortable distance from the main house with a tranquil sitting area, books, music and television. The kitchen is well stocked with cutlery, pans and whatever else you might need. Upstairs is a large area with airy windows and a large comfortable bed. The facilities are sparkling clean even though you're on a farm. If you're lucky, several friendly ducks may greet you when you walk out on the front doorstep. The scrumptious breakfast is usually served on the expansive deck, looking out on the property. The beautiful gardens are alive with colors and sounds of peace in the Kiwi countryside. Rob and Gillian helped make my first week(alone and in a new country) a relaxing, enjoyable, and oh-so memorable New Zealand experience; with all of the charm and pleasantries of good company far away from home. |
