Fantastic location, quiet, peaceful and relaxing. Great hosts, excellent food, great swimming pool and gardens. Best of all great value. Great place for a 'house' party, sleeps 10 in five luxury suites. Stayed in Almendro with a private garden. cannot recommend highly enough

Casa Rural 'Adobe'  - Reviewed by Ray Eyres
Highly recommended. A group of 8 of us stayed for a few days in August and we found the standard of accommodation to be excellent. The building itself is fascinating, and don't be misled by the 'adobe' tag - the whole set up is done with great taste and even a degree of elegance. The rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet; breakfast was good with cereal and fruit; and our dinners were well prepared with fresh ingredients and were good value. The owners are very welcoming and can recommend places to visit. If you enjoy history and natural history there is plenty to see in the area: the local town of El Burgo de Osma is well worth a visit, as is the village of Calatanazor; El Canon de Rio Lobos is spectacular, particularly for bird-watching, and try to get to both Gormaz castle and the celtic-roman site at Tiermes. This is excellent walking and cycling country but you will need a car to reach it (about 2 hours from Madrid).

There are many excellent beaches to the south of this part of sunny Fuerteventura, and even on a busy day they are too big to be overcrowded. These beaches are popular with surfers, windsurfers and kiteboarders, and their colourful sails and kites only add to the scenery. The north beach stretches for miles and incorporates several lagoons which provide safe bathing. The circular stone windbreaks (corralles) that are a common feature in El Cotillo surround these lagoons. This beach is popular with naturists because of the available shelter and safe bathing.

The Haven  - Reviewed by Denise
“A real Haven” I stayed at the Haven in El Cortillo for six nights and it was blissful. A beautiful self contained apartment with access to a sun terrace. You could hear the waves crashing on the nearby shore. If you need to get away from it all, this is the place for you. I travelled on my own and felt safe at all times. The beaches are a serious of little lagoons, you can have one to yourself if you want. I hired a care and explored the island very worthwhile. If you stay here eat on the little pier at the Resturant La playa, food is excellent, in fact all the resturants I eat in were good, authentic spainish cooking. Go to the pier in mid afternoon and you might see the man and his floating dog!! The dog floats on his back!! Amazing!
