Excellent small hotel only 1 mile from the centre of Edinburgh opposite the glorious Botanic Gardens. Had a very comfortable midweek stay. Exceptionally clean with lovely decor. Good local restaurants and very friendly staff. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Would definitely stay again. |

Springrove House Bed and Breakfast

Rated 8 only because this is not a glamorous castle hotel! Instead, it is the rectory house of an old ruined church, and sits next to (or within) the graveyard. The house is very well renovated, with meticulous accommodation and fine people hosting. On the road between Edinburgh and Stirling, close to Linlithgow Castle, and lots of history in the area, it is worth the stop. |

Comfy bed in large room. Poky facilities built in corner of bedroom but were useable. Lovely breakfast and hosts were accommodating. Would be happy to stay there again. |

The best B&B on our 11 days trip to Scotland. Most elegant and spacious. Made me feel I was in a palace. Denise and Michael are wonderful. Happy to advice on anything and their advice always helpful. If it's how to get to Edinburgh (20 minutes train from nearest town) or where to find a shopping mall. Recommended to those who prefer the quiet of the country side to the crowded Edinburgh.
