The Airlie Guest House offers comfortable, accommodation conveniently situated in the heart of Edinburgh. We are a well established, family run, 3 Star bed and breakfast. Just over one mile from Princes Street and only 3 miles from the Straiton exit of the Edinburgh City By-Pass. From the Guest House you can either walk to the High Sreet and Princes Street or if you prefer we have an excellent and frequent bus service with buses passing the Guest House every few minutes. The bus journey to Princes Street, the centre of the City, only takes about 10 minutes. At the back of the Guest House we have a LARGE PRIVATE CAR PARK which is free for guests to use while they are staying with us, this takes the worry out of where to park. The Airlie is Totally Non Smoking throughout and is personally run by proprietors Peter and Fiona Flynn so a warm welcome is always assured. Free broadband internet and a wifi hotspot are also available. While you are staying with us we encourage our Guests to have a look at our library of Scottish Themed books. If you finish reading your fiction novel while staying with us we have an extensive offering of books that you are welcome to exchange with.
We have a variety of bedrooms to suit most travellers, these include single, twin/double/small family, all with en-suite shower and toilet, budget standard double with shared shower and toilet facilities located just outside the room in the hall, and large family en-suite rooms. All rooms have a wash basin, digital freeview television, tea/coffee making facilities, adjustable central heating and secondary glazing. A payphone is available for Guests use. We have a free Wireless hotspot for those Guests wishing to use their laptop. A computer with internet access is also available for use by all of our Guests. While you are staying with us please Check in at the Airlie is available from 11.30am until 8pm although we may be able to accommodate guests, by prior arrangement, outwith these times, so please ask. A set of keys are given to each Guest on arrival which allows access to the Guest House and your bedroom at any time during your stay. We provide a full cooked breakfast, (if you would like to have a look at our menu please ask), which is included in the rate and served between 8am and 9am daily. Check out on your last day with us is 10am.
There is an wide variety of eating establishments within easy walking distance of the Guest House with most tastes being catered for. If you like Indian cuisine the Dehli Diner is personally highly recommended.The area boasts 2 Post Offices, Laundrette, Delicatessens, Hairdressers, general stores, The Festival Theatre, the Queen's Hall, The Royal College of Surgeons, and most parts of Edinburgh University. Only a 5 minute walk from the Guest House is Holyrood Park, in front of you is Arthur’s Seat - an extinct volcano. There are paths which allow you to climb to the top of Arthur’s Seat and once at the top you have a spectacular view of the City. If you have your car with you there is also a road which you can drive up and enjoy panoramic views that way. Edinburgh has a long and interesting history with plenty of places to visit and we have provided some information in a folder in your bedroom which we hope will help you make the most of your visit. We also have a small library offering a selection of Scottish themed books for you to peruse while you stay with us.
