Hands down, our favorite place to stay in Ireland was the Farrenwick Country House. We stayed there 4 years ago, and when we decided to return for another visit to Ireland, this was the one place we HAD to stay at again. Farrenwick is immaculately clean, comfortable, surrounded by beautiful gardens, and set in a peaceful and restful rural location. Kay and Dennis Fahey are the incredibly gracious and welcoming hostess and host. The best thing about staying at Farrenwick was the craic - although Kay's tea, scones, brown bread, homemade jam, and delicious breakfasts are unbeatable. Ask Dennis about politics, health care, Irish history, criminal justice, religion, solar energy, local issues - and you will be rewarded with conversation that may carry on into the night. We felt more like family than guests in their home. We would recommend a stay at Farrenwick, and predict that you will want to come back again and stay longer!

I spent three nights in hillcourt and found the owners very helpful and charming. I was welcomed with brack and coffee. The room was perfect and the cooked breakfast delicious. I was offered a lift to and fro my destination

When we arrived at the B&B, we were immediately welcomed by the smiling hostess. She offered us tea and coffee. When we took her up on the offer, cake was provided as well. The room was extremely clean and smelled like fresh laundry, which was wonderful! The whole experience at the B&B was very pleasant. It felt like a home away from home. They hosts were friendly and helpful. They gave us excellent directions and advice about Kilkenny. And, they cooked a wonderful breakfast! We loved our stay at the B&B and are sure others would as well!
