Dorchester is the historic county town of Dorset and you will find plenty of museums, historic sites, shops, cafes and restaurants within 10-20 minutes walk. You are also perfectly situated to explore the whole of Dorset, whether it is the beautiful countryside made famous by the author Thomas Hardy or the miles of stunning Jurassic Coast which has World Heritage status. For beach lovers you are just 8 miles from Weymouth with it's beautiful and safe sandy bay. The waters of Weymouth and Portland are great for water sports enthusiasts, as is proved by the fact that we are hosting the Olympic Sailing events in 2012!
