Briarswood Cottage is Heritage Listed, it dates back to the late 1930s but on crossing its threshold you would swear that it was an original 16th century Tudor residence. Now run, as a bed and breakfast the cottage sits opposite peaceful Craigie Beach on the corner of Esplanade and Craigie Road in Mt. Martha. For most of its life the cottage was a private residence, designed to resemble the genuine article named Briarswood that stood in Norfolk, England. Present owners Ann and Ian have created a delightful seaside retreat enhancing the charm of the character filled property by furnishing the rooms with antiques, beautiful pieces that have been chosen with Briarswood in mind. The landscaped gardens surrounding the cottage retain old trees and provide an idyllic resting place. Three upper level bedrooms offer a haven for the work weary and the attractive tariff includes a sumptuous cooked breakfast served in the dining room. The original gardener?s cottage nestling at the back of the property has been reinvented as a self-contained hideaway and is perfect for a romantic weekend away from it all or a very special honeymoon.
