South Australia is home to huge semi-desert areas in the far Outback but also Adelaide, 'the city of churches' and home to 80% of the regions population. The state is well-known for it's wineries, mainly in the Barossa Valley, although other wine growing valleys include Clare, Coonawarra and McLaren. South Australia has fantastic scenery and bush walking in the Flinders Ranges, as well as wonderful landscape in the Adelaide Hills.
