Thornton Beach is the Daintree's best kept secret, located halfway between Cape Tribulation and the Daintree river.
Surrounded by the Daintree National Park and looking out on the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park our beach bungalows are the ideal accommodation for a relaxing holiday.
We offer comfortable beach front accommodation just 20 metres from stunning Thornton Beach with the world's oldest rainforest (135 million years old!!) as a backdrop.
Our bungalows are solar powered and offer queen size bed, ensuite bathroom, tea/coffee making facilities and private verandah with views of the Coral Sea
This is the perfect base for exploring the Daintree Coast's world famous attractions, including Great Barrier Reef tours, 1/2 day and 2 day sea kayaking tours, horse riding, guided night and day rainforest walks, crocodile spotting cruises, exotic fruit tasting, 4WD safaris, fishing and more.
We can arrange all these tours for you.
This is also the perfect place to relax and unwind with miles of pristine beaches to explore, swimming in local creeks, or just lazing under a tree.
A short walk down the beach to the mouth of Cooper's Creek will reveal the stunning views of Thornton's Peak - Queensland's third highest mountain.
This is truly a photographer's paradise.
We also have a holiday house for rent at the same location that can sleep up to 8 people.
Drew & I have been living in the Daintree rainforest since 1991 and we love to share our experiences and knowledge of the local area with our guests.
