We stayed here last night because of the good last minute rate and the convenience of the location. The location is great and the autumn trees in the garden spectacular.. Having been disappointed last time and on reading the previous reviews we were a bit cautious on arrival. However the room was OK. It was good to find that the sheets were new and fresh. Generally all was well except I had to go down to Reception to obtain English Breakfast tea bags and another wine glass. i The room was in good order; the chairs had been reupholstered but had a stain on some. A darker fabric and Scotchguard would have been wiser. The furniture needs a good dust but overall an improvement on our last stay and the last minute price was good. The full cooked breakfast was very good and the rate we got was very attarctive!

We've just returned from 2 days break in the Blue Mountains staying at the Jenola Caves and Fairmont with our family . The Blue Mountains is a terrific place for a break any time of year but if you have an active family some of the nicer guesthouses and boutique hotels are best left alone. The Waldorf Gradens is a great budget and value for money alternative. Its location right on the escarpment at Leura is wonderful and has large areas of gardens. The lower lounge part of the gardens are a great place to sit around and talk. The loaction overlooking a golf course and near Leura Village is just beautiful and very inviting The rooms are pretty much standard 3-4-star fare, nothing special ,may need upgrade, but nothing missed out either. The real bonus for families is the number of activities available at the Leura and Katoomba areas.. The free breakfast Restaurant is buffet oriented for all meals and is good both for breakfasts . If you are going to Leura and eating at the excellent Silks or Cafe Bon Ton for lunch Overall an excellent place to stay as a group or family. for a very good price range of $110-$130 per family ( depends on the room size). We had a room with nice veranda so we could sit & supervise the boys in the gardens

This hotel is in the lovely mountain town of Leura. Our room was clean but quite dark-the furniture is dark wood and the soft furnishings dark. Also, the garden that our room looked onto could do with some maintenance work although I think this will be dealt with soon. The room had bath robes, a large television and a dvd player ( they had some dvds available at reception to borrow although we never took advantage of this). The bathroom was clean with a large walk in shower, there was no bath which may bother some people but fortunately we prefer showers. This hotel is only a few minutes drive from a spectacular lookout point but doesn't itself look out over the blue mountains. A car would be essential to get anywhere, but I think this is probably the case for anywhere in the Blue Mountains if you intend to see lots of different areas. The reason I have given this hotel a "4" rating is because of the wonderful time we enjoyed here. I had the Overall, we enjoyed our stay here. However, there are probably more luxurious resorts in the Blue Mountains which have views over the mountains themselves but the value in Leura Gardens is great
